SOULTRIBE SANGHA
A 6-Month Immersion into the Roots, Philosophy & Living Practice of Yoga
September 2026 – March 2027
(December integration pause)
In person at SoulTribe Studios + available worldwide via Zoom & recordings.
Yoga was never meant to be just exercise.
Somewhere along the way, much of modern yoga became focused on performance, aesthetics, flexibility, and “wellness culture.”
But beneath the poses lies something much deeper.
A philosophy.
A practice.
A way of relating to yourself, your body, your breath, your mind, and the world around you.
SoulTribe Sangha is a space for those who feel called to explore that deeper layer.
Not through dogma or performative spirituality.
Not through overwhelming academic study.
And not through pressure to become a teacher.
But through thoughtful teaching, embodied practice, reflection, discussion, and community.
This is yoga as a lived experience.
What is Sangha?
In yogic philosophy, Sangha means community.
A gathering of people walking the path together.
And that’s exactly what this is.
A monthly space to:
practise together
learn together
reflect together
ask questions together
connect more deeply to the roots and purpose of yoga
This is not about “getting it right.”
It’s about becoming more curious.
More aware.
More connected.
More honest.
This may be for you if
You feel drawn to yoga beyond the poses
You’re craving more depth, meaning, and substance
You’d like to understand the philosophy and roots of yoga in an accessible way
You’re interested in nervous system regulation, breath, meditation, and embodied awareness
Your practice has sparked questions you’d love space to explore
You’re tired of surface-level wellness culture
You want to be part of a thoughtful, grounded community
You do not need to be flexible, experienced, spiritual, or interested in teaching yoga professionally.
Just open and curious.
the journey

Roots of Yoga
Before we move a single limb, we go back to where this all began. This month traces yoga's origins - long before mats, leggings, and Instagram reels - back to its roots as a spiritual and philosophical practice. We ask what yoga was actually designed for, and start to untangle that from what it's become.
Where yoga actually came from, and how it was practised for thousands of years before it reached the West
How yoga evolved (and was reshaped) on its journey to the modern studio
What yoga was originally designed to do for a person
Beginning to ask: what does yoga mean to you, underneath everything you've been told it should be
-
What is Yoga, Really?
With the history in place, we turn to the bigger question underneath it all. This month is about looking past the poses and shapes to the actual purpose of the practice - yoga as a path, not a workout.
Unpacking the word "yoga" itself - union, connection, integration
Why yoga was never meant to be measured by flexibility or how a pose looks
A gentle introduction to yoga's philosophical framework, beyond the physical limb
Separating "doing yoga" from "practising yoga"
-
The Body in Yoga
This is where we come back into the body - but differently. Instead of chasing shapes or performance, we slow down and learn to feel our way through practice: sensation over aesthetics, awareness over achievement.
Shifting from "how does this look" to "how does this feel"
Learning to move from sensation and internal awareness, not external cues
Letting go of the pressure to get a pose "right"
The body as a source of information and wisdom, not a project to fix
-
Integration Pause
No session this month — space to rest, reflect, and integrate.
-
The Breath & Nervous System
We start the new year by going underneath the body, into the breath. This month is an introduction to pranayama and to the role breath plays in regulating the nervous system - how something so simple can shift how we feel, moment to moment.
An introduction to pranayama and foundational breathing practices
How breath speaks directly to the nervous system
Using breath to move between states - calming, energising, steadying
Simple breath tools you can use on and off the mat, in everyday moments of stress
-
The Mind & Inner Landscape
With body and breath established, we turn inward to the mind. This month explores meditation and self-awareness - not as a way to switch off, but as a way to meet yourself more honestly.
An introduction to meditation as a practice of awareness, not "emptying the mind"
Observing thought patterns and inner narratives without getting swept up in them
Building a relationship with stillness
Honest self-inquiry - meeting what's actually there, rather than what you think should be there
-
Living Your Yoga
The final month is about integration - taking everything from the previous five and asking what it looks like lived, not just practised. This is yoga off the mat: in your choices, your relationships, your boundaries, your everyday way of being.
Bringing awareness, breath, and presence into daily life and decisions
Yoga as a lens for relationships and boundaries
Living your values, not just stating them
Closing reflection - how your relationship with yoga (and yourself) has shifted across the six months

A note from lucy
I created SoulTribe Sangha because I believe many of us are longing for something slower, deeper, and more honest.
A return to the roots.
A return to community.
A return to practices that help us understand ourselves more fully — not escape ourselves.
This is not about becoming the “perfect yogi.”
It’s about exploring what yoga might actually have to offer us in real life:
presence, awareness, compassion, steadiness, truth, and connection.
I would love to welcome you into the Sangha.
